Samuel Defacqz joins the QUALIDEM team

Samuel Defacqz joined the ERC QUALIDEM project on December 2020. In collaboration with the QUALIDEM team members, hewill work notably on how citizens mobilize public policies to talk about politics. Before joining QUALIDEM, Samuel worked as a postdoc for theTROPICOproject (EU Horizon 2020 project) at the UCLouvain and at the CNRS, Sciences Po Grenoble (UMR Pacte), France. TROPICO investigates how public administrations are transformed to enhance collaboration in policy design and service delivery, with the use of information and communication technologies. Previously, Samuel was a F.R.S.–FNRSresearch fellow at the UCLouvain, where he received his doctorate in 2018. His dissertation, entitled The Internal Legitimacy of European Interest Groups: Analyses of National Interest Groups Perspectives, investigated the relations between national interest groups and their EU umbrellas from a qualitative and comparative perspective. Samuel’s research areas include public policy, (digital) public administration, e-governance, interest groups,legitimacy and comparative politics.
