On November 21, QUALIDEM’s principal investigator Virginie Van Ingelgom had the privilege to moderate, conjointly with Marc Verdussen, professor at UCLouvain and expert in constitutional law, a debate with former French President François Hollande. The event took place in the context of Mr Hollande’svisit to UCLouvain on the occasion of the recent publication of his book “Répondre à la crise démocratique”(Fayard, 2019). During the debate, Mr Hollande discussed his viewson origins of and potential solutions to the current democratic crisis with an audience composed of around 1000 persons, most of whom UCLouvain students. The event offered participants the opportunity to hear an interesting analysis from the point of view of a former top decision-maker.
